Manowar est un groupe de heavy metal traditionnel américain formé en 1980. Le groupe a aussi été qualifié de "power metal" dans les années 80 mais à l'époque ce terme n'avait pas le même sens qu'aujourd'hui et désignait simplement des groupes de heavy metal traditionnel mettant l'accent sur la puissance de leur musique et une imagerie guerrière.

Manowar j'ai découvert avec leur dernier album studio "Gods Of War", puis j'ai écouté leur album le plus réputé "Kings Of Metal" et comme le disent les critiques, le dernier est méchament plat par rapport à Kings Of Metal qui est énorme 
Depuis le groupe est même surnommé par le nom ce cet album Génialissime.
